Lemon Bay Glass & Mirror is proud to offer windows & doors from PGT Industries. WinGuard® Vinyl & WinGuard® Aluminum are Low-E Solarban Windows Doors providing perfectly sound Florida living.
What is Low-E?
Low-emittance or Low-E Solarban is a microscopic thin coating, virtually invisible, metal or metallic oxide layers deposited on a window surface to reduce the U-factor by suppressing radiative heat flow. Coating a glass surface with a low-emittance material and facing that coating into the gap between the glass layers blocks a significant amount of radiant heat transfer and lowers the total heat flow through the window and into the room. Insulated glass provides benefits. Link to read PGT Low-E product literature.
Save energy with Low-e glass coating. It deflects the sun’s heat to boost your home’s energy efficiency. It also has many other benefits. Low-E Solarban Windows Doors lowers energy usage and spending. Low-e windows and doors maintain a more comfortable indoor temperature in warm and cold weather. They protect your furniture, drapes, and carpet to minimize UV fading. Low-e provides extreme durability that doesn’t require special care. Impact-resistant windows and doors also offer protection from extreme weather, intruders, and outdoor noise.
Some things to know about Energy-Efficiency Ratings:
U-Factor: Measures how well a window or door keeps heat inside the building. Lower numbers mean better heat retention.
Solar Heat Gain Coefficient: Measure a window or door’s ability to keep heat out. Lower numbers mean better heat resistance.
Adding Low-E coating drops both U-Factor and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient values.
